Ulrich J. Sachs, MD, PhD

Associate Professor of Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine, Justus-Liebig-University Giessen, Germany

Ulrich J. Sachs has received his medical degree in 1999 and has been trained in Transfusion Medicine, Immunohaematology, and Haemostasis and Thrombosis in Giessen, Houston and Wuerzburg. He is currently Associate Professor of Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen, Germany. Ulrich J. Sachs has dedicated his scientific career to platelet and granulocyte immunohaematology. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 journal articles and a number of text books. He is actively involved in several scientific societies; currently as a member of the Nomenclature Committee for Granulocyte Antigens of the International Society for Blood Transfusion and as chair of the Standing Commission for Laboratory Diagnostics of the German Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
